Basketball in Alberta
“All work, no play makes Johnny a dull boy”. This is a classic saying that proves to be all true in an individual’s life. Working is fun and inspiring but taking some time to relax is more soothing. In the western world, involving one’s self in leisure activities such as sports plays a great role in the development of physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects of life. So in order to live a normal life, include recreation in your routine and make sure to participate in healthy and active lifestyle.
While into the subject of recreation, consider sport as an essential factor that affects one’s attitude towards physical development. In Alberta, engaging in all kinds of sports is as important as participating in any other activities that enhance growth in physical and mental as well as in social sides. According to sportalberta.ca, “Study concludes that governments, communities and Canadians in general have plenty of good reasons/justification for supporting sport.”
There are four categories of benefits Albertans get from sport participation in which it includes health, social cohesion, skills and economic impact.
However, not everyone loves all kinds of sports. Each individual varies interests and this determines the type of sports that one should be involved. For example, due to popularity on TV and its legendary icons that have been famous in time, basketball is one of the most-loved sport worldwide. For Albertans, there are other kinds of sport that tops the list but at least there are also sport enthusiasts that are serious in the game.
Basketball has been a sport in Alberta and today it is proud to present The Steve Sir Shooting and Offensive Skills Clinic.
[ Steve Sir, a Basketball Alberta Alumni, will be conducting a shooting and offensive skills clinic this month at Concordia University.
